Ángel Ortega is an award-winning director, editor and colorist whose career in the audiovisual industry began in 2006 when he directed and produced his first short film. Since then, he has developed a multidisciplinary path across television, documentary filmmaking, advertising and digital media, building a body of work defined by strong visual storytelling and refined post-production craft.

Throughout his career, Ortega has collaborated with major television networks including Globovisión and Meridiano TV in Venezuela, as well as international channels such as Sony, AXN and Sony Spin. These experiences allowed him to develop a strong foundation in broadcast production, storytelling and high-level post-production workflows.

In 2007 he founded Expresión Digital Producciones, an independent audiovisual production company through which he has created content for brands, artists and organizations across multiple markets. Through this platform he has directed and produced a wide range of projects including commercials, music videos, documentaries and digital campaigns.

Over the past several years Ortega expanded his career internationally, establishing himself in Buenos Aires, Argentina. From there he has collaborated with brands, agencies and production teams across Latin America, the United States and Europe, bringing a cinematic perspective to both commercial and documentary storytelling.

His work has also been part of the Hispanic media landscape in the United States through his collaboration with MundoNow, where he has contributed to investigative reports, documentaries, news features, commercial campaigns and public service productions for the U.S. Hispanic audience.

Ortega's work has received multiple Southeast Regional Emmy Awards between 2021 and 2024, along with several nominations across categories such as Editor – Short Form Content, Documentary, Investigative Report, News Feature and Sports Documentary. These recognitions highlight his contribution to journalistic storytelling, documentary production and high-level editing for broadcast media.

As a filmmaker and post-production specialist, Ortega combines directing, editing and cinematic color grading to shape the narrative and visual identity of each project. His work focuses on visually driven storytelling that blends cinematic aesthetics with journalistic depth.
